While it’s a little early to be celebrating 2024, we at the all-new Volvo Cars Dublin are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new model year.
The 2024 new car model line-up will further cement Volvo Car’s dedication to a fully electric future. We will see new versions of the 2024 C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge models. Both will get an upgrade to their electric motors for an even greater range.
Volvo Cars USA is offering real-wheel drive for the first time in 25 years. The 2024 C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge will be available in rear-wheel configurations which take advantage of the second-generation permanent magnetic electric motor. This technology has been developed in-house at Volvo Cars. The new rear-wheel drive will distribute the weight of the battery and motors more evenly for improved tracking and safety.
The new Single Motor Extended Range C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge feature increased power and range. Charging the car from 10 - 80 percent state-of-charge takes approximately 28 minutes.
The C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge will both be available with Twin Motor all-wheel drive variants which confer the same benefits and increased range. With an asynchronous motor that does not require a constant electrical charge, the Twin Motor conserves energy by engaging the front-axle drive only when it’s needed, contributing to the improvements in range.
“These updates are another big step in our work towards becoming a fully electric car maker by 2030,” said Javier Varela, chief operating officer and deputy chief executive at Volvo Cars. “Range and charging times are new key factors for more and more of our customers, and these improvements make our fully electric models even more attractive than they already were.”
The new model year will also bring the highly anticipated arrivals of the newest Volvo models: the all-new, fully electric Volvo EX30 compact SUV, and the new flagship of Volvo’s electric line – the new seven-seater fully electric Volvo EX90 SUV that has achieved Volvo's highest level of standard safety ever.
As part of the continuing endeavor to make driving an electric vehicle even easier, Volvo Cars has adopted the North American Charging Standard which means electric Volvo car drivers will get access to 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
There’s much more to Volvo Cars Dublin than just electric vehicles. We will continue to stock a large inventory of our most popular gas and hybrid Volvo SUVs like the XC90, the XC60, XC40, and sedans like the S90 and S60.
A few months ago, Volvo Cars Dublin debuted Care by Volvo. We’ll continue to offer our customers the ease of driving a new Volvo with one monthly subscription payment which includes maintenance, roadside assistance, excess wear protection, and more.
