At Volvo Cars Dublin, we have been singing the praises of Volvo cars for years. We’re in good company. Car and Driver recently named five Volvo models to their prestigious Editors’ Choice Winners for 2024. At the same time, Parents.com named the XC90 and EX90 to their Best Family Cars of 2024 list.
Car and Driver calls their annual Editors' Choice list “the automotive world's honor roll”. We wholly agree. Their editors put hundreds of cars, trucks, SUVs, minivans, and wagons through a rigorous instrumented testing program. Each vehicle is ranked against its direct competitors within its respective segment. Those named to the Car and Driver Editors’ Choice list represent the “honor roll” of the automotive world.
With such high standards, we at Volvo Cars Dublin weren’t surprised that five models were named to the Editors’ Choice list. The models honored were the XC40, XC60, and XC90 luxury SUVs, and the V60 Cross Country and V90 Cross Country luxury wagons. Car and Driver praised both interior and exterior features. They also recognized the XC40 for its “refined Swedish design, safety, and practicality.”
All of the Volvo models receiving the Editors’ Choice award are available in mild hybrid trim. The XC90, XC60, XC40, and V60 are all offered as plug-in hybrid models. The XC40 Recharge is also available as a full-electric vehicle.

As a standard for safety, Volvo vehicles have long been a favorite of parents so it comes as no surprise that the XC90 Recharge plug-in hybrid and all-electric EX90 were winners in Parents Family Car Awards competition.
The XC90 Recharge was named Best Hybrid SUV and the highly anticipated EX90 won Best Electric 3-row SUV.
