In recent years, Volvo has made bold proclamations about its plans for the future. Among them are the following:
- Offer only mild hybrid, hybrid or all-electric vehicles by the 2023 model year
- Be purely electric by the year 2030
- Be carbon neutral as a company by 2040
Those are very ambitious goals. And Volvo has already reached the first of those three, announcing that the brand’s entire lineup of 2023 models will, in fact, be mild hybrid, hybrid, or all-electric. At the same time, Volvo announced that each 2023 Volvo would come equipped with Google built-in. Combined, that is a decisive step toward the future.
Updates Made to the XC40 and XC40 Recharge for 2023
Volvo Cars Dublin is pleased to announce that the popular Volvo XC40 compact luxury SUV, first introduced just 5 years ago, has been refreshed for 2023. We’re even more excited to announce that Volvo Cars Dublin already has several 2023 Volvo XC40 models on their way to our new dealership. These have proven to be very popular SUV’s with the active, environmentally conscious San Francisco Bay Area market.
Further Into the Future
Not only will there be cosmetic changes to the 2023 Volvo XC40 and Volvo XC40 Recharge, but Volvo is now offering the XC40 only in a mild hybrid platform, stepping closer to the all-electric XC40 Recharge. Additionally, those shopping for the 2023 XC40 Recharge will be offered the option of premium leather-free upholstery at no additional cost. High grade, leather-free interiors are preferred by consumers looking to reduce the environmental impact of their purchases, and many have found the leather-free options to be superior in terms of comfort, appearance, and maintenance to that actual leather.
Design as Message
According to Robin Page, head of design at Volvo Cars, the auto manufacturer is using design cues to signal its move toward an electric future. “As we move towards becoming a fully electric company, our design language follows. With the refreshed fully electric XC40, we continue to evolve its instantly recognizable design, creating a more modern face with a sleeker front and an even more integrated grille.” Specifically, the 2023 XC40 Recharge introduces a new front bumper and frameless grill plate that will keep the XC40 Recharge visually consistent with the Volvo C40 Recharge, which will help define Volvo’s emerging identity as an all-electric brand.
The 2023 Volvo XC40 and XC40 Recharge Arrive Soon
As previously mentioned, Volvo Cars Dublin has already received word that the newest XC40 models are in-transit and should arrive at the East Bay’s newest Volvo dealership in a matter of weeks.
